A Day in Paradise.....

I am tired of winter and looking at this card maked me wish I was on a beach somewhere in warm weather soaking up some sun...and I hate hot and humid weather so that should tell you how sick of winter I am!!!

I know, I know, I know....I am way late on getting some posts done here. But I am getting back into it. So, I will start by sharing some little 2-4-7-10 boxes I made for my daughter to give some gifts to my grand daughters preschool teachers....there are 5 in total....

ok, so I have been on a temporary lay-off from work and thought to myself...."I am going to get a million things done in my craft room now! I am going to make a lot of cards and get finished on those two scrapbooks that I started way too long ago." Well, guess what? I can hardly make myself come into my craft room!!! I have been so busy in my house and my lay-off began right before Thanksgiving so that all flew by. I got my tree up and down. The kids came home for Thanksgiving and went back home. The families got together for Christmas and everyone has gone back to work (oh, except for me...I go back on February 2nd), and the time is just flying by. My daughter is getting ready to have her 2nd child in Knoxville so we are preparing to take off and go down there any day now.....we are waiting on the phone to ring as every minute ticks by. She is not due until the 24th but has already had one overnight in the hospital with possible toxemia so they are watching her very closely. That was last week and she is dilating and thinning. Her first baby is only 18 months old so she will probably go very quickly when it all really starts to happen.
Well, I just wanted to drop in so if any of you are checking into my blog, I didn't want you to think I just bailed out completely. I have a lot of pictures in my camera to put in here to share with you all, I just don't seem to have enough hours in the day now that I am not working.....funny how that works, isn't it?! lol
I will be back to share with you very soon so don't give up on me.....

Wintery Trees

More trees....I used Martha Stewart Carrara Marble glitter on these....I love her glitter!! Hope it shows up for you!

Cracked glass...

I made this card for a contest. It had to be crackled or cracked so I did both! The images are from Innovative Stamp Creations....the butterfly and flower are from the Friendship set and the trees and sentiment are from the Marvels of Nature set. They have such a different variety, I love their stamps! This is my first attempt at the cracked glass....

Lovely As A Tree....

I have been wanting this stamp set for so long and I finally got it! Now I am happy......well at least at this very moment, then I will want something else...lol.

Anyway, I was jsut messing with my stamps and did the images. I ended up just throwing these cards together and I love them...especially the one that looks like it all foggy.

Howl at the Moon....

This looked like a cold Autumn day card and it is cold and rainy here so it fits our weather. I used Inkadinkado Fall Season stamps on this card. All other supplies are from Stampin' Up.

Upsy Daisy.....

This one is probably my favorite brayered card that I have done (with the exception of what I did in class with Michelle). I love the way the colors blended and the simplicity of it. Needed something on the top and didn't want a sentiment to I put a simple knotted bow to take up some space.

Bray, bray bray.....

Still working that brayer! I liked this card until I put the brads in the corner. Too many, too close and I think it ruined the card, but I will give it away or something so I don't have to look at it....I might try taking 2 out and movin them and just putting a couple more holes in the edge....it would look like I meant to have those holes there then....lol.
OK!!!!! I updated the card and the pic but left the old one in so you could see the before and after on them. I like it better....still not my favorite card, but better than it was. The photo corners helped but would have probably been better with nothing or just a single brad....next time!!!

Medallion Card

I saw this tutorial on how to use a punch to make this medallion. Can't remember exactly where it came from this minute but I will find it and post the link here.
Anyway, I think this is one of my favorite cards that I have made to date. It just all fell together for me...I love when that happens!
The stamp sets are Bella's Rose and Heard from the Heart from Stampin' Up! and it is all Stampin' Up! products and inks.
OK...found the tutorial....It was done by Becca (that is what I was thinking earlier but wanted to be sure before I posted that). Anyway, here is the link to the tutorial...

Michelle Zindorf class!!!!

I went to a Michelle Zindorf workshop today in Dayton, Ohio. She is remarkable! I loved it...we made 3 full cards and the image to a fourth since we had some extra time. I matted and finished it when I got home (the first one posted). I hope you all like them, I was really happy with the way they all turned out.
If you ever get a chance to go to one of her workshops, GO!!

Cat- tails card...

I used my Big Shot and my Top Note die for this cut....I love the cat- tails! I used the slot punch for the cat-tail and the Inspired by Nature stamp set for this one.

Inspired By Nature card

My first time using this set. I like the stamps a lot! I used my Big Shot and the Top Note die for the cut-out and edged it with the white gel pen....gave it a nice touch.

2nd Tag for Swap....

This is the tag I made for round 2 of the tag swap...everything is current Stampin' Up! products. I used the heat and stick powder with the dazzling diamonds......My first time. I love how the glitter just lays down on it!

This is from the cut files Okie shared with all of use with her adjustable scallopped designs....thank you sooo much Okie.....you are such a gem and you are sooo talented! I can speak for many and say thank you and we love you!!!!!!!! Hope you like my tag!! Thanks again for all of the creativity and designs you share with so many of us!

Big Shot Card....

I made this card using the Big Shot. I used the large scallop circle die. I also used the Stampin' Up! exclusive Birds and Blooms sizzlits large flower die for the little sheeps head and feet.....I love this card......he is just so cute......or maybe he is a she since she is on a pink card! lol

Butterfly Card

I am learning how to use my brayer....this is one of the better ones I have done....I think I am getting the hang of it!
Cardstock: Whisper White (background for front of card) and Bashful Blue
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, All Holidays and the butterfly stamp is from Martha Stewart's clear butterflies stamps.
Inks: pumpkin pie, really rust, summer sun, bashful blue, night of navy and basic black.
I colored the butterflies in with co-ordinating Stampin' Up markers and embossed them with clear embossing powder.

Bella's Bloom

This is the first card I ever did with the markers where I actually colored the stamp and "huffed" on it to get it damp before stamping......It turned out beautifully!!! (I truly had my doubts...lol)
Stamp: Bella's Bloom
Cardstock: Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue and Not Quite Navy designer series paper (hostess set)
Ink: Not Quite Navy and Stampin' Up markers pumpkin pie, old olive and barely banana
Ribbon: pumkin pie and bashful blue 1/4" grosgrain
Accesories: scallop edge punch, ticket corner punch
